Legal aspects: "Videobooks - Mobile Storytelling" | Project selection and realization
Rights and distribution: Through the development of the Videobook, the rights thereto shall automatically be transferred to the winner or his/her producer(s). The Videobooks platform will distribute the Videobook on its channels, for which it has received the non-exclusive right, which is unlimited in terms of time and space. The selected person will retain the non-exclusive right to distribute the Videobook at his/her own expense and on his/her own channels.
The selected person will decide for him/herself whether he/she wishes to distribute the Videobook on the Videobooks platform or on his/her own channels either free of charge or for a fee.
At the time of realizing the selected project, all rights related to all media to be integrated must have been clarified for a period of at least five years.
DOCMINE Productions GmbH in Munich shall realize the selected Videobook free of charge, on the basis of a predefined script structure and the delivery of the individual media for direct implementation. A creative director of DOCMINE will be available for four half days to offer advice to filmmakers with regard to the creation of the information architecture and the script.
With regard to Videobook scope, the Videobooks contained in the portfolio at the time of calls for proposals shall serve as an indicator.
DOK.forum and DOCMINE may refrain from realizing the selected project as a Videobook, should the quality or quantity of the material be insufficient and/or the material not be delivered on schedule. Should DOK.forum and DOCMINE deem the script quality as insufficient, the independent jury shall be asked to make the final decision about the Videobook realization.
The selected Videobook candidate shall submit the script and additional materials by 31 July 2017. In the event of a later submission, the company DOCMINE shall be under no obligation to realize the Videobook for free.
Upon Videobook selection, the parties shall conclude a contract which will set out these preliminary provisions in detail.
